Sidcup RFC is pleased to announce the appointment of Jack Dutton as the new First Team Captain for the upcoming rugby season. Jack has been an integral member of the club for a number of years, and his appointment as captain is a testament to his dedication and commitment to the club.
Jack first joined Sidcup at 16 years old, with his first taste of senior rugby playing for the league winning “Super Three’s”. After returning from university he quickly established himself as a key player in the First Team. He has consistently demonstrated exceptional leadership skills and a strong work ethic on and off the pitch.
On his appointment Jack said “It’s a great honour to be named captain of this great club and if I can do half as well as some of the great Sidcup captains that have gone before me then I will be thrilled.
I’m particularly excited to be leading the lads into a new era and into what I believe is a great opportunity ahead of us next season.
Last season didn’t go the way we wanted it to but the cup game at the end showed that the future is bright with so many of the squad that day having recently come through the academy.
I look forward to seeing you all around the club in the new season. #YAMS”
In his new role as First Team Captain, Jack will work closely with the coaching staff to develop the team's strategy and tactics. He will also be responsible for leading the team on and off the pitch, setting an example for his teammates, and representing the club with professionalism and integrity.
