We have a recipe for you.
What do you get when you carefully blend these ingredients together in just the right amounts: 28 teenage boys + a fantastic Community Rugby Club + a noctural mammal who lives in a Sett (a Badger) + passionate encouraging coaches + caring well-organised team manager and assistant manager + hour-after-hour of practice on wet winter Sunday mornings + drill-after-drill in the cold + teamwork + discipline + tough games against strong sides + some agonising defeats in the previous months + a few trips to the minor injuries clinic + many helpful supportive parents & enthusiastic supporters + a sprinkle of pre-match pep-talks worthy of Churchill. Answer? The U13 Sidcup squad on Sunday 12 March 2016 who convincingly won three tough matches in the Kent Finals to bring the silverware home to the Club trophy cabinet. The boys had really grown in confidence & self-belief and so proved to themselves that, when they work as a team, they really CAN do it ! You REALLY are my Sidcup! Well done to all the lads in the 28 strong U13 squad for their contributions to the team's successes in Folkestone.
